GARY
PARKHURST
Skimmers Pool Co., a top-rated pool service in Hillsborough County, was founded by Gary Parkhurst — a veteran- and family-owned company based in Hillsborough County. Originally from Philadelphia, Gary attended Slippery Rock University and later Penn State before building a professional career of his own. At 28 years old, after the events of 9/11, Gary felt called to serve and made the decision to join the military. After training, Gary served with 3rd Special Forces Group (A), including multiple deployments to Afghanistan. The experiences and discipline gained through both his education and military service helped shape the leadership, accountability, and attention to detail that continue to guide the company today.
After transitioning into business ownership, Gary founded Skimmers Pool Co. with a simple goal: build the kind of pool company people actually enjoy working with. From the beginning, the focus has been on honest communication, dependable service, and treating customers with respect. What started as a small operation has steadily grown through word of mouth, strong relationships, and a reputation for consistency and reliability.
Today, Skimmers Pool Co. continues to serve homeowners throughout the Tampa Bay area with a focus on long-term customer relationships and quality work done the right way. Alongside his family and team, Gary takes pride in helping customers enjoy their outdoor spaces while building a company rooted in trust, professionalism, and community.
